This program supports low-income households with affordable housing while you undergo career training for a higher-paying careers. You will also receive personalized supports like food assistance, utility assistance, family counseling, transportation assistance, reliable internet access, and access to affordable childcare.

To be considered for this program, you must have a high school education or equivalent, live in Franklin County, and be a current public assistance benefits recipient. Your entire household must earn 60% of the Area Median Income or less (see Overview – Eligibility below).

Summary

Resiliency Bridge provides you with stable, affordable housing while you complete a no-cost job training program for a higher-paying job. You’ll also get connected to a resource network to for personalized supports like family counseling, transportation assistance, reliable internet access, childcare, and food security.

Your Commitment

Right away, you’ll work with a Talent Development Specialist to help you identify a career path and select a job training program for a stable, higher-paying career. Many of the available programs are between 9-12 months long, and are part-time, flexible, and/or virtual – case managers will help you identify the right fit for your schedule and interests. Then, you’ll be paired with a Navigator to get connected to services like housing and other social services. Resiliency Bridge is committed to job training programs that lead to an starting hourly wage of at least $19.83.

The Resiliency Bridge Approach

This Pathway brings together a wide network of community partners, all focused on supporting you throughout your learning journey. We recognize that many in our community lack the housing security required to undertake a training program. By providing affordable housing and other wraparound support while you skill for a higher-paying career, we hope to improve your long-term financial, career, and personal well-being.

Eligibility

To be considered for this program, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, live in Franklin County, and be a current public assistance benefits recipient (including but not limited to unemployment, food assistance, Medicaid, TANF, etc.). Your total household income must be 60% or less of Area Median Income (see table on the right). Income requirements subject to change based on program rules; talk to your navigator for more information.

  1. Documents showing total household income (pay stubs, tax returns, IRS Form W-2. Six months of documents required).
  2. Documents showing age and birthdate (valid driver’s license, state/federal ID, passport card, birth certificate)
  3. Documents showing authorization to work (Social Security card, birth certificate, Right to Work form, U.S. passport, passport card, naturalization certificate)
  4. Selective Service registration (males born after 1/1/60)
  5. Verification of Dislocation (if applicable) – Unemployment Compensation Award, lay-off letter, severance letter, RESEA letter

  3. Attend an orientation at the Jobs Center, enroll in a certification program and get paired to a Talent Development Specialist for career support.
  4. Get connected to Home for Families and Navigator to review eligibility and get connected to housing/suppports. This could include:

Resiliency Bridge Programs

You’ll work with a Talent Development Specialist to help you identify a career path and select one of the job training programs below that works for you. These high-demand, COVID-proof careers pay at least $19.83 per hour immediately upon completion. The programs are between 9-12 months long, and are offered by a variety of local providers. Many are part-time, flexible, and/or virtual – the Job Center will help you identify the right fit for your schedule and interests.

**NOTE: Median wage represents all workers in that field, it is not the entry wage.

Resiliency Bridge graduates will be equipped to earn at least $19.83 per hour in their first job after completing the program.

Medical Assistant
